Adventure Advocates is dedicated to building a community that supports getting people outdoors and into our natural environment. Adventure Advocates is established to be a not-for-profit charity with the purpose of furthering the development of outdoor activities, increasing accessibility and increasing the awareness of the many benefits that getting active in the outdoors can provide to the Australian Public.

These benefits include, but are not limited to;

Increasing general fitness, reducing stress, anxiety and depression, trauma rehabilitation, weight loss, heart disease prevention, decreasing cholesterol, lowering blood pressure, improving mental well-being, creating social connections, appreciation for the environment and a range of tangible physical and mental benefits.

Adventure Advocates is established with the purpose of advancing the outdoor sector in Australia, particularly hiking/bushwalking by:

  • researching and preparing reports on outdoor (particularly hiking/bushwalking) and conservation issues

  • providing a forum for all people engaged in the outdoor sector to discuss best practice and enhancing the future of the industry

  • provide resources for educating the community regarding adventure-based skills, activity planning, preparation and safety

  • promote safe and environmentally responsible outdoor activities and their benefits to the community

  • working with government at all levels to ensure that the interests of the outdoor sector are represented regarding the public decision-making process

  • promote and actively work for the conservation and effective management of the natural environment including national and state parks, wilderness, coastal and other public land areas to enhance their hiking/bushwalking value to the community, and

  • providing tools and resources that render outdoor activities, more accessible for individuals, groups and the Australian community.

There is nothing better for our health, mind and soul than to be immersed in our natural environment
